About Sarah Rimmer (Williams) my Independent campaign partner
I moved to Umina from Sydney in 2002 to have my children. The blend of bushlands, national parks, world class beaches as well as a developing and diverse community, makes the Central Coast a jewel of opportunity for families to enjoy and businesses to grow.
I have a background in small business and in the not for profit sector. I currently work for Fairhaven Disability Services as their Marketing and Fundraising Manager, and previous had 10 years managing fundraising for Oxfam and The Wilderness Society. Locally I have produced community directories for the Central Coast, supported by local business, but free to community organisations and to the public. This was an initiative to connect people with services and services with each other. I produce the Local Map for the Woy Woy Peninsula, established now for over 10 years. My volunteer work includes Surf Life Saving, Mary Mac's Place, Woytopia, and other not for profit PR activities.
The thing I care about most, is the well being of individuals. I studied counselling and worked with Lifeline for 10 years, I have taught mindfulness meditation and well being for young women. The healthier we are, the healthier our community is. It works from the inside out. It is my view that the more balanced we are on the inside, the better placed we are to stand up for what we need in our community. I stand for the empowered voice of every individual.
I have chosen to run as a candidate in this election to support Gabby Greyem and the shared vision I have for environmental, social and economic sustainability for the Central Coast, strong and healthy community development, responsible and visionary industrial development and job creation, as well as stewardship of our coastal open spaces and reserves.
I would love to see a Council with more Independents truly representing their local communities. I know Gabby to be a dynamic force of nature, who cares deeply about our community, youth issues, development, our environment and passionately about transparency and fairness. It takes a strong moral compass as well as a strong will to hold true to your principles and the voice of those you represent. This is why I am standing, and supporting Gabby Greyem to represent us on Council. If there is anyone you can count on to be a bold advocate for positive progress and change in our local community at this time, it's Gabby.
