The votes are in. Thanks so much for your support everyone!!

The votes are in. Thanks so much for your support everyone!!

I managed to get more personal votes than any of the other candidates in Gosford West Ward, but being a small Independent team with little recognition, sadly on the ballot paper, Group E was no match for the big party brands or the recognition of former councillors.

Still, without selling out our independence to preference deals, we managed to get 7.96% of the vote in our Ward!

Brand recognition, party machine power and preference deals between the other candidates meant we didn't get a seat on Council.

It is also very sad to see that over 14% of the votes in Gosford West Ward were informal - this is a sad reflection our community's loss of faith in democracy.

I also think it is a damming reflection of the complete lack of local and national media attention given to informing voters of their choices in this very important election.

It's also a damming reflection of the lack of information about this election given to voters, residents and ratepayers by Central Coast Council.

Thank you again for your vote and congratulations to all of the new councillors on your new jobs!!!

Congratulations to  Louise Greenaway Central Coast New Independents and Carol Fortey Independent Gosford East Ward for your brilliant election results!

I truly hope that the elected councillors work for you and make good decisions for the future of our region.

I'm happy to keep this web page alive for the next 12 months, as well as my Facebook page @gabbygreyemindependent, for you to air your local council concerns and show the new Central Coast Council what you care about and what you need Council to do for your community.
